Nick Saban The Devil: Former Assistant Compares Alabama Coach To "Lucifer"
Distinguished as he might be, Alabama coach Nick Saban is again drawing unflattering comparisons.
Florida offensive line coach and former Saban assistant Tim Davis has joined the lengthy chorus of those questioning the Crimson Tide’s four-time crowned lead man’s style and approach.
In an interview with GatorBait.net, Davis responded to comparative questions about Saban and new boss Will Muschamp by saying “I think Saban is the devil himself. I’ve always wanted to work with Will. Will’s got a plan.”
After further comparing Saban to “Lucifer,” Davis again extolled the virtues of Muschamp. “Will’s like the other guy, only he’s got a personality,” he said. “He’ll smile at you; he’ll talk to you. You understand? That’s what he’s all about. That’s Will. I’m proud to work for him.”
Like Davis, Muschamp’s pedigree is also steeped in his association with Saban. The two previously worked together for several seasons. “Will coached under the devil himself for seven years; I only did three,” said Davis. “His DNA is not any different than Nick”
On this day, Davis’ repeated stabs at humor--- and Saban--- went over well with the throng of Gator fans assembled at the Space Coast Gator Club in Melbourne, but there true impact want be known until it’s determined if Florida can build on its 11 win season of a year ago.
”I’m telling you, this is Will right here,” said Davis. “We prepare for it all the time. That’s his point plan from A to Z.”
