The New York Yankees (24-14) begin a three-game set against the Seattle Mariners (18-20) tonight at Yankee Stadium at 7:05 p.m. Fans of either team can live stream the game here for free or they can live stream it through MLB.com with a subscription. The game will be shown on YES Network and on ROOT Sports; Yankees fans trying to catch the game on the radio should tune in to WCBS 880 while Mariners fans should turn their dials to 710 ESPN.

The series will kick off with a heavyweight fight in terms of starting pitching; Felix Hernandez (5-2, 1.53 ERA) will take on the Yankees' hefty lefty CC Sabathia (4-3, 3.23 ERA) in what figures to be a tremendous duel.

"King" Felix knows he will have his hands full battling a hot Yankees lineup that isn't as replete with big names as in the past, but is producing big-time numbers. "That's a big matchup right there," Hernandez said. "I just have to go out there and match him and do whatever we have to do to win the game." Hernandez, who won the Cy Young award in 2010 despite winning just 13 games, has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2013, toiling in relative anonymity because of the weakness of the team he pitches for.

Seattle is in third place in the American League West, propped up by the disappointing Los Angeles Angels and the comically bad Houston Astros. They are six games out of first place though, with little to no hope of competing for a divisional crown.

The Yankees, on the other hand, have overcome massive amounts of injuries to stars and role players alike, to reach 10 games over .500 and first place in the highly competitive American League East. A big part of their success has been the work of the steady Sabathia, who has gone eight innings three times in eight starts, and has failed to pitch six innings just twice.

Still, Hernandez has the statistical edge on Sabathia, as well as a track record of dominance over the men in pinstripes. According to ESPN.com Hernandez is 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA in his last five road starts against the Yankees. His last start in Yankee Stadium was a two-hitter on August 4th of 2012.
