Charles Woodson Rumors: Former Packers DB Can't Believe He Doesn't Have A Team

Lining up against the opposition’s best receiver week after week never made Charles Woodson this nervous.

The former all pro and Green Bay Packers cornerback made an appearance on the NFL Network this week, where he openly admitted he’s starting to get a little spooked over the thought of not having a team to call his own.

The Packers informed the 36-year-old vet they would be moving in a different direction this offseason and, given his irrefutable body of work, Woodson always seemed it would be just a matter of time before he had signed elsewhere.

Four months later and counting is much more than he ever imagined it would take. “I am surprised because I don’t think there’s any question in anybody’s mind whether or not I can play football,” Woodson told the network. “So, my issue is, you know I can play football, why am I not on a team, why haven’t I had more visits? I’m kind of surprised by it.”

One visit Woodson has had was with the San Francisco 49ers and he still considers that an option, even though the team has signed veteran Craig Dahl and drafted Eric Reid at the position since he met with them.

“I’d be upset, but I’m prepared at the same time,” Woodson said of the notion of not being signed by any team prior to the start of the season. “I’ve been playing football for a long time; I’ve been in the NFL a long time. I love the game, I love to play and I know I have a lot left to give the game. So that would be frustrating not being on a team, but if that’s the case, that’s the case.”
