Mario Williams: Bills' Mario Williams Files Suit To Get Engagement Ring Back

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams is suing his ex-fiancée over the return of a nearly $800,000 engagement ring.

According to court reports obtained by Pro Football Talk.com, Williams paid $785,000 for a 10-carat diamond engagement ring in February 2012 that has yet to be returned in the wake of his recent breakup with Erin Marzouki.

In fact, attorneys for Williams now contend “the defendant never intended to marry the plaintiff and used the relationship as a means to get plaintiff’s money and acquire gifts.” Williams also alleges he additionally purchased more than $230,000 in luxury items for Marzouki and gave her a credit card in which she charged more than $108,000 on in less than twelve months.

Formerly of the Houston Texans, local TV station KTRK reports Williams filed suit there on Friday with his attorneys stressing state law stipulates a party may be entitled to recover a ring get if it was given as a gift with the intention of matrimony, particularly given that it was Marzouki who ended the engagement.

A six-year veteran, Williams signed a six-year contract worth up to $100 million, including $50 million guaranteed last off season, making him the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player.
