Arkansas fell out of the AP college football poll after a loss Saturday to unranked Louisiana-Monroe, while Alabama kept its number one spot for a second week.

The Razorbacks fell from eighth to unranked after losing in overtime 34-31 to Louisiana-Monroe.

Arkansas lost quarterback Tyler Wilson to an injury during the game and lost on a 16-yard run from quarterback Kolton Browning, who had 481 yards of offense in the game to go with four touchdowns.

The historic drop was the second largest fall from the Top 25 of all time, following Michigan in 2007, who lost their opening game to Appalachian State. The team fell from No. 5 to unranked.

The top four teams remained the same, with USC at No. 2, followed by LSU and Oregon. USC received eight first place votes while LSU got four. Alabama had 48 first place votes

USC beat Syracuse 42-29 in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium in a game that was partly delayed due to severe weather warnings in the Tri-State area. Heisman favorite Matt Barkley had six touchdown passes for the Trojans.

Florida State is now tied for fifth with Oklahoma while Georgia is ranked at No. 7. South Carolina is ranked at No. 8, while West Virginia and Michigan State round out the rest of the top ten. Michigan State easily beat Central Michigan 41-7, while South Carolina rolled 48-10 over East Carolina.

Four teams fell out of the poll with Arkansas following losses this week, including Wisconsin, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.

Wisconsin was ranked at No. 13 but lost on the road to Oregon State 10-7. Prolific running back and one of last year's Heisman runner-ups Montee Ball had a rough game, only gaining 61 yards of rushing. He also had a streak of 20 games with a touchdown snapped.

Nebraska's loss to UCLA snapped a streak of 37 straight appearances in the Top 25 poll. The Bruins won 36-30 and are now ranked at No. 22. The team is 2-0 under its new coach Jim Mora, who took over for the disappointing Rick Neuheisel.

Michigan moved up two spots to No. 17 after their tight 31-25 win against Air Force. Quarterback and Heisman candidate Denard Robinson had a huge game for the Wolverines, passing for two touchdowns and over 200 yards while also rushing for 218 yards and two more touchdowns. Robinson outgained the entire Air Force team in total offense on his own.

Other new entries into the poll include No. 23 Tennessee and No. 24 Arizona. Tennessee and UCLA have been out of the polls for four years while Tennessee returns for the first time since 2010.

Arizona looked impressive this week under new coach Rich Rodriguez, winning easily 59-38 to knock Oklahoma State from the poll. Sophomore running back Ka'Deem Carey led the way with three touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing.

Notre Dame moved up two spots to No. 20 after winning one of the closer games of the weekend. The Irish beat rival Purdue 20-17 after second string quarterback Tommy Rees led the team on a last-minute drive to score the game winning field goal.

BYU also entered the poll at No. 25.

Other teams that received votes include Boise State, Baylor, Mississippi State, Northwestern and South Florida.
