The Miami Heat steamrolled the Milwaukee Bucks once again Thursday night 104-91, and made a little history in the process. Ray Allen set the record for career postseason 3-pointers, passing Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller.
Allen sank five 3-pointers in the victory, giving him 322 career playoff treys. He finished the night with a game-high 23 points, and was 8-of-14 from the field. LeBron James was right behind Allen in the scoring column, netting 22 points on a 9-of-14 performance from the field. James added six assists and five rebounds against the overmatched Bucks.
Dwyane Wade was putrid all night, scoring a shocking four points and making just one of 12 shots. It was no matter though, because Allen and Chris Bosh were able to step up. Bosh, the least heralded member of Miami's fearsome three-headed beast, put up a double-double, scoring 16 points and snatching 14 boards.
"That's been our calling card all year, the depth that we have," said Allen. "As a team, you've got to find a way to plug in the holes, and every night we find somebody different."
Wade tried to laugh off his poor shooting night. "I shot the ball terrible. But we played a good game. Game 3 is a tough game. I thought, as a team, we showed a lot of guts, a lot of grit. When those guys came out hot, we stayed with it, we stayed with our game plan and were able to get a great win. There's nothing as satisfying as winning a Game 3 on the road. But it's over now. Now we have to focus on closing the series out."
Brandon Jennings, who made noise before the series started about the Bucks shocking the Heat in six games said, "I hope we're still confident. As a team, we need to stay together." Jennings had 16 points and eight assists in the loss, and was a dreadful 1-of-7 from beyond the arc.
