Dwayne Johnson Emergency Surgery: The Rock Had Surgery Monday To Repair Injuries Suffered At WrestleMania

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may look superhuman on the big screen and in the ring, but he proved he is human Monday when he underwent emergency surgery to repair severe injuries suffered inside the squared circle during his match against John Cena at WrestleMania, according to reports.

According to Johnson, he tore his abdominal muscle and abductor off the bone and called it "just part of my job." Johnson was very descriptive on Twitter about his apparently gruesome injuries, tweeting that his doctor had to "push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic."

The surgery forced Johnson to miss the premiere of his new movie, Pain and Gain in which he plays an enormous body builder obsessed with working out. Johnson apologized for missing the event, and director Michael Bay said, "Dwayne's hurt tonight. He was pushing it too hard. [He] needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound men."

There is no word on whether Johnson will return to World Wrestling Entertainment having lost his championship belt to Cena and injuring himself in the process. Johnson's schedule appears very busy in the coming months. He is starring in Hercules: The Thracian Wars as well as a television series on TNT.

The television series is called The Hero and features Johnson as a motivator and guide to ten contestants who will live in a house together and be pushed to their limits. The contestants will compete in challenges and events designed to "test their brains, their brawn and even their morality."

Johnson is extremely excited about The Hero, telling InsideTV.com, "Dany and I couldn't be more excited to enter into our first official foray in TV production. The Hero speaks to everything I believe in when it comes to challenging ourselves, to becoming better people every day and to making the right choices while growing from the wrong ones."
