The NFL draft is right around the corner, and during the buildup toward the draft many prospects immaturely injure their own stock by making poor decisions.
During this year's Combine, a room in a hotel where many players were staying was trashed, the majority of the damage taking place in the bathroom. According to reports, urine and feces were all over the place, and toothpaste had been smeared on the mirror. Beyond the bathroom, garbage could be found throughout the room.
National Football Scouting president Jeff Foster, who runs the Combine, told Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole "I can confirm that a room was left in an inappropriate condition and we're disappointed by both players who occupied the room. There was no material damage to the room; otherwise we would be pursuing further action and really be trying to get to the bottom of the situation. It's just very disappointing, and the people we feel the worst for are the people at the Crowne Plaza who had to clean it up."
The names of the two players who occupied the room are DeAndre Hopkins, a wide receiver out of Clemson, and Mark Harrison, a receiver from Rutgers, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hopkins is seen as a potential first-round draft choice, and there isn't word yet about what this incident will do to his stock. Hopkins denied involvement on social media, tweeting "Left hours b4 this incident leaving it at that."
Last season, Hopkins' numbers were startling. He caught 82 passes for 1,405 yards and 18 touchdowns. He is listed at six feet, one inch and 210 pounds, and is compared to Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowler Roddy White on NFL.com's draft profile.
Harrison is not seen as a prospect on the same level as Hopkins. He stands at six feet, three inches and 235 pounds, but according to his draft profile has inconsistent hands, stiff hips, and never produced big numbers. In his senior season Harrison hauled in 44 passes for 583 yards and six scores.
