The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) will head to Lincoln Financial Field tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET to take on the in-state rival Philadelphia Eagles (0-2) in a Week 3 preseason matchup that fans can watch on NFL Network or live stream by clicking this link. Steelers fans can hear the radio broadcast on 102.5 WDVE, while Eagles fans may do likewise on 94 WIP.
The story heading into this game, which is supposed to feature the most starter activity of any of the preseason weeks, is the arrest of Steelers running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount for possession of marijuana. Bell is also facing DUI charges for driving under the influence of marijuana.
Despite their run-in with the law, both players are expected to take the field tonight against the Eagles according to reports. Both Bell and Blount are in Philadelphia, but Blount was the only one who traveled there with the team.
In Philly, quarterback Nick Foles should get the most extended run of the preseason with his new weapons, and Eagles fans will be hoping to see more progress. Foles looked out of sync in Week 1 while adapting to throwing passes to Jeremy Maclin and rookie Jordan Matthews. He threw two interceptions equaling his total for the entire 2013 season.
"You never want to have a bad game," Foles said Sunday. "It's always going to feel the same whether you've been the starter forever or you're a new starter. But if it happens, it's one of those things where no matter who you are, people are going to look at you as the quarterback to see how you bounce back, how you are on the bus after the game, how you are the next practice. I'm hard on myself. But I knew I could bounce back."
Both Maclin and Riley Cooper are nursing injuries currently, so they likely won't be available tonight.
"I'll be excited when they are back because they are two tremendous receivers," Foles said. "But I want to make sure their health is there. And to make sure that they are healthy enough to go out there before they go out there, because you don't want to re-aggravate an injury because then you are out for longer."
