Brooklyn Nets power forward should be preparing for the upcoming NBA playoff slog, but instead of focusing 100 percent on the title chase, he will be distracted by a lawsuit against him from a Beverly Hills suit shop owner named Scott Hill.
Hill is claiming that he was approached by Humphries and his now-estranged wife Kim Kardashian about providing Humphries with some slick suits. He says he sold the Nets forward a bunch of clothes at a 30 percent discount, with the agreement that Humphries would refer at least two of his "NBA friends" to Hill's store.
Hill claims the players didn't even need to buy anything; he simply wanted an introduction. Hill alleges Humphries then bought $46,000 worth of suits with the discount, did not honor his end of the agreement, and still owes $6,000 worth of suit bills. Now, Hill is hitting up Humphries for $52,000 in damages plus interest.
Hill's company told Hip Hollywood "The simple matter is that we hoped Kris would live up to his side of the agreement, but he chose not to appreciate that hard work my company put in ... We gave Kris the opportunity to clear things up. For sometime, there's been a difference of opinion on how things should be handled. Therefore, we had to take legal remedy."
This new lawsuit is being piled on his legal battle with Kardashian, and a poor 2012-2013 season. In the offseason following his best year in the NBA in which he averaged 34 minutes, 13.2 points and 11 rebounds per game, Humphries was inked to a two-year, $24 million pact by the Nets.
This season, though, he has been badly outplayed by Reggie Evans, who took his starting role and is soaking up many of Humphries' minutes. Humphries is averaging just 5.5 points per game, a drop of about seven a night, 5.6 rebounds, and just over 18 minutes.
