While Heat forward/center Chris Bosh was out celebrating his 29th birthday, thieves celebrated a windfall gained by robbing Bosh's house, and making away with $340,000 worth of jewelry and goods, according to reports.

According to a News 6 report, "On Wednesday night, Bosh was out celebrating his 29th birthday at Briza on the Bay on Bayshore Drive in Miami with a Moroccan themed party, which included belly dancers and fire breathers."

Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said the police received a call at 12:30 a.m. after Bosh and his wife returned home from the party to find drawers open and jewelry and watches missing. There was no sign of forced entry according to Hernandez, and easily traceable items like Bosh's championship ring were left alone. "We think it was probably an inside job," Hernandez said. "It's very difficult to prevent crimes such as this from happening." Police are now interviewing Bosh's house keepers and contractor, while also reaching out to a wide swath of pawn shops to see if any of the stolen jewelry turns up.

Bosh admitted that he was a bit shaken by the incident. "It's always a concern. It's just an unfortunate circumstance, but there's just not much I can say. It takes a minute to see certain things were not where they were. You figure it out."

Bosh's party was certainly an unorthodox affair. Two camels named Henri and Jacob greeted guests, while Bosh arrived at the celebration via a helicopter and a yacht, according to ESPN.com. Most of his Miami Heat teammates attended, including LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and several of the players were in Saharan  clothing. Bosh's cake was a bejeweled elephant being ridden by a Chris Bosh figure.

This season is Bosh's third with the Heat, and he is averaging 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. The Heat are 58-16 this season, best in the NBA.
