Kevin Love Rumors: Golden State Warriors Undecided on Pursuing Kevin Love Trade [VIDEO]

The Golden State Warriors' pursuit of All-Star forward Kevin Love has stalled, with some officials within the organization questioning the wisdom of trading away some of their young stars like prized shooting guard Klay Thompson.

According to ESPN, new coach Steve Kerr and consultant Jerry West have opposed the proposed trade involving Thompson, former All-Star David Lee and a future first round pick to Minnesota for Love and guard Kevin Martin.

Warriors GM Bob Myers was also quoted as saying that they are 'unlikely' to win the Love sweepstakes.

Thompson's inclusion in the deal is what bothers the Warriors because he is considered not just a good shooter but perhaps their best perimeter defender outside of Andre Iguodala.

ESPN also reported on Thursday that the Wolves may also ask for Harrison Barnes as an additional piece in the trade, which would make the Warriors pause or even consider calling off the deal.

Other teams have put up offers for Love, a six-year veteran who has never been to the playoffs. The Celtics have packaged its number six and 17 overall picks in this year's draft, along with veteran Jeff Green, and a young player like Jarred Sulliner and Kelly Olynyk. The Denver Nuggets, meanwhile, are offering the number 11 pick with Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler for the double-double machine.

The risk in dealing for Love is that there is no assurance that the 25-year-old will remain with them for the long run. Love is set to become a free agent next summer and has reportedly told the Wolves management to trade him if they don't want to end up empty-handed next year.

Should the Warriors still pursue Love even if it means parting with Klay Thompson? Tell us @SportsWN
