Luis Suarez Goal [VIDEO]: Uruguay Star Finds Back Of the Net vs. England, Shows Knee Is Healthy

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who missed the World Cup opening loss to Chile, has made an immediate impact upon returning to the starting lineup. Uruguay took a 1-0 lead into halftime vs. England thanks to a header by Suarez that found the back of the net at the 39’ mark, further showcasing his nose for the goal.

Suarez got a nifty pass from forward Edinson Cavani and headed the ball past English goalkeeper Joe Hart for the only goal of the match thus far. Both sides desperately need a victory to avoid early elimination in this 2014 World Cup; an exit at this point in the tournament for either squad would be a severe disappointment.

Suarez has Uruguay’s only shot on goal, and has displayed slight rust from his five-week layoff with two offsides calls. He is making his return from a torn meniscus, an injury that typically requires at least six weeks to heal.

England is far from out of the match though; they have a 60 percent to 40 percent advantage in time of possession, and have gotten off five shots to Uruguay’s three. They must keep a close eye on the invigorated Suarez however, or he may hit paydirt a second time.
