WWE Rumors: Update On The Shield Going Its Separate Ways, Roman Reigns And Dean Ambrose Won't Have Formal Split [VIDEO]

After Seth Rollins attacked former Shield partners Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, it was uncertain if Ambrose and Reigns would remain united, but now it seems as though they will be going their separate ways despite not having a formal breakup.

Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar No Longer Planned For SummerSlam

Reigns and Ambrose didn't appear together at all on Monday Night RAW this week and each have separate ring entrance music now. Reigns has kept his riot gear while Ambrose has switched his attire completely, along with Rollins - who debuted a new look on Tuesday's SmackDown tapings.

On RAW, Ambrose was involved with Rollins as both interfered in each other's matches while Reigns began his ascension to the main event by winning a battle royal to qualify for the seven-man Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship, joining Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt and John Cena in the match.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that even though Reigns and Ambrose were both betrayed by Rollins and should formally still be together, the company is keeping them apart in storylines and all three members of The Shield will be going their own way. There is no planned formal breakup or acknowledgement of why Ambrose and Reigns are no longer partners.

The split started on an episode of RAW a few weeks ago when Triple H and Randy Orton appeared in the aisle and told The Shield there is always a Plan B, leading to Rollins attacking Reigns and Ambrose with vicious chair shots to close the show.

Rollins isn't officially a member of The Authority or Evolution in the WWE's mind, but he will be utilized as a heel and a friend of Triple H.

There were reports that Rollins would battle Ambrose one-on-one at Money in the Bank on June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston, but Rollins then announced on Tuesday's Main Event that he will be partaking in the second Ladder Match at the show with a contract on the line that is good for a WWE Championship shot within the next year.

It is likely that Ambrose will be added to the match to build off of their feud while a future singles match will likely occur at another pay-per-view event. Ambrose will likely win a qualification match to get in this Monday on RAW.

The Shield is no more, and it will be interesting to see what trajectory each member of the faction takes now that they are all on their own.
