Vikings' Jennings Thanks Packers Fans In Full-Page Ad

Newly acquired Viknings wide receiver Greg Jennings took out a full-page ad in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel entitled "A Bittersweet Farewell" on Wednesday to thank Packers fans for their support during his time in Green Bay. Jennings signed with the rival Vikings on Friday after spending his entire seven year career with the Packers.

"It has been 7 years since I was first blessed with the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful organization and community. I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for opening your arms and hearts to my family and me, and for making Green Bay an easy place to love and call home," Jennings wrote.

Jennings signed a five-year, $47.5 million contract to join Minnesota's wide receiving corps. He is just the latest of high-profile Packers to join the Vikings in recent years, including safety Darren Sharper, kicker Ryan Longwell and, most notably, quarterback Brett Favre.

"I'm not the first Packers player to jump on this side," Jennings said with a smile last week at his introductory news conference. Jennings told ESPN that he sought out to Favre for insight on the Vikings organization. The two were teammates in Green Bay until Favre's departure in 2008.
