LeBron James' cramps became the storyline out of Game 1, but he had played well until leaving the contest, and his Heat looked poised to win. He's looking to get past the cramps, and should remain upright as the Spurs' air conditioning has been repaired.
"You can't think about what may happen in the third or fourth quarter. Live in the moment," James said. "And for me, whatever I can give my teammates if it happens again, hopefully I can make an impact while I'm on the floor and that's all that matters to me."
One concern for San Antonio that was destined to become a bigger issue had they dropped the Finals opener was the high amount of turnovers. Big man Tim Duncan committed a number of them, and joked that his goal of playing point guard will never be achieved now.
"After my five turnovers the other night, I think I took a step back from that," he said. "I don't think that I'm going to be able to step up and fill that role for a little while. But, no, I enjoy getting in the middle of the floor and making decisions and getting the ball to the right place, and that's what a point guard's got to do."
While they're in good spirits, point guard Tony Parker isn't being lulled into any sense of security. "To win championships, you have to face adversity and come back from any situation, and they've proved that over the years. That's why it's our job to stay focused and we know it's just one game, and we know they're capable to come back and win at our place."
