Patriots: Veterans Freeney, Abraham and Wilson Visit

The New England Patriots held visits for free agent veteran safety Adrian Wilson and pass rushers John Abraham and Dwight Freeney on Friday, sources confirmed to ESPN. While hosting the former pro bowlers, New England managed to sign cornerback Kyle Arrington to a four-year contract.

Wilson, 33, was released by the Arizona Cardinals after 12 seasons with the team. He is one of just six players in NFL history with 25 or more sacks and 25 or more interceptions.

Abraham, 34, finished the 2012 season with 10 sacks as a member of the Atlanta Falcons, who released him and other starters to make salary-cap room. He has 122 career sacks in 12 seasons, including seven seasons with double-digit sacks.

Freeney, 33, spent his entire career with Indianapolis and saw his numbers decline when the Colts switched to a 3-4 defense last season, a trend that has continued since 2009. In 2009, Freeney had 31 tackles and 13.5 sacks. In 2010, he had 25 tackles and 10 sacks. In 2011, Freeney recorded 19 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
