Club America Transfer News: Moises Munoz Says No To Tigres UANL, Aquivaldo Mosquera To Pachuca?

Just last Friday, Fox Deportes' Ruben Rodriguez (via Twitter) reported a possible transfer for Club America goalkeeper Moises Muñoz. The 34-year-old faces the potential of entering the 2014 Apertura season without a defined role and flirted with a transfer to Tigres UANL.

That, however, is no longer the case.

Per Rodriguez (via Twitter), Muñoz has said no to an offer from Tigres and will be staying with America for the foreseeable future. His focus will now turn to a battle for starting minutes. Manager Antonio Mohamed was ready and willing to name Hugo Gonzalez as his first-choice keeper should Muñoz depart, but with a change in plans, Mohamed will have to reevaluate the situation.

The same can be said for the club's center-back situation, with Rodriguez also reporting (via Twitter) the imminent exit of Aquivaldo Mosquera. The 32-year-old allegedly has "a foot and a half" in Pachuca and is set to join a young squad—one that was able to reach the 2014 Clausura final.

A move for Mosquera wouldn't hinder America's central defense, though. The club officially secured the services of Paolo Goltz on Thursday. Goltz, a 29-year-old Argentine who most recently plied his trade with Club Atlético Lanús, made 127 appearances for his club between 2010-14He'll look to carry his club form to Estadio Azteca.

With his inclusion to the squad, and with Muñoz no longer deciding to depart, will Club America's defense remain one of the best in Liga MX? Tell us @SportsWN
