Tigres UANL sent shockwaves through Liga MX when they announced the transfer listing of club captain Lucas Lobos. After six successful years with Tigres—six years in which he helped deliver a Liga MX and Copa MX title—the 32-year-old must now consider a future outside of Universitario Stadium.

Per Medio Tiempo, possible destinations include Toluca, Club America, Monterrey and Jaguares. The decision is his, but he remains adamant that his new destination carries the medical technology required to care for his son.

"My personal problems make it so I need medical attention, a problem of one of my sons. I've had friends call me from my old club to tell me they're going to give me a call, but I had to explain to them my personal problems," Lobos said. "I have a great friendship with Lucas Licht [a left-back at my former club]. We talk," he added.

"The possibility of returning is there, but I don't want to make any illusions."

The possibility of returning to Tigres is all but gone, something his soon-to-be former teammate, Damian Alvarez, believes will ruin the essence of the club.

"If he goes, so to does the history of Tigres UANL over the past decade because for seven years he's been the icon of the club, the most emblematic," Alvarez said (via Medio Tiempo). "He gave the club an identity," he added.

"Lucas Lobos leaving is not the same as any other player leaving."
