Jon Jones Next Fight: Daniel Cormier Dominates Dan Henderson, Will Face Winner of Bones, Alexander Gustafsson? [VIDEO]

UFC 173 will be remembered for its heart-stopping main event between Renan Barao and T.J. Dillashaw, but Daniel Cormier proved he's an elite fighter in the light heavyweight division in the co-main event.

Cormier used his wrestling to rag doll mixed martial arts legend Dan Henderson for three rounds, body slamming and wearing out Hendo for a clear win. He's been angling for a shot at Jon Jones for quite a while, and Cormier's on track to get it.

Unless, of course, Alexander Gustafsson gets Jones first. Gustafsson gave Jones the fight of his life the first time these two met, and Gus has officially agreed to a rematch with "Bones" for UFC 177 on August 30.

Manos Terzitane, Gustafsson's adviser had this to say about facing the UFC's pound-for-pound champion-- "We were offered to fight on the card at the end of August in Las Vegas. This is a big fight. The first title fight was the best fight in UFC history. We're just hoping Jones will accept the fight."

Should Jones accept the match, the winner is almost assuredly going to take on Cormier, who hasn't lost a round in his UFC career. Cormier certainly expects that to be the case, and even went as far as to say he hopes Jones is still champion when he gets his title shot.

"That's why I started fighting. I'm 35 years old. I'm not a kid and I can't wait too long. But it means something to beat Jon Jones," Cormier said.

"I know we all praise Alexander Gustafsson for what he's done. He's a great fighter. It means a little bit more to beat a Jon Jones. Look at what Chris Weidman beating Anderson Silva did. If it had happened to anyone else I don't think it would have had the impact that it did. So I would prefer Jones to be the champion."
