At 29-years-old, Goltz will help fill the role left vacant by the expiring contract of club captain Aquivaldo Mosquera. According to Soccerly, Mosquera is rumored to seek a return to Pachuca—the club synonymous with his success before a brief spell in Europe.

Goltz joins the recently acquired Oribe "El Cepillo" Peralta as the two attempt to lay down the foundation for the Antonio Mohamed era. The 44-year-old Argentine is beginning to shape his own vision for the club, one separate from the successful one enjoyed by current Mexican national team head coach Miguel Herrera.

Another addition will allow Mohamed to do just that.

The new target: Club Tijuana's Cristian Pellerano.

With Cristian "El Hobbit" Bermudez returning from loan (previously with Queretaro), the pieces are beginning to fall into place to bring Pellerano to Estadio Azteca. Bermudez is rumored to be one of the bargaining chip's the club will utilize to complete a deal (per a highly regarded Club America news account).

Pellerano made 15 appearances for Los Xolos de Tijuana in 2014, scoring seven goals and creating 21 chances. He would be a welcomed addition for a club looking to return to the prominence recently achieved by Leon. Rub Sainz—a reporter for Mexican outfit Efekto Noticias—reported as early as Monday a deal could be done.

Will Club America, however, be able to finally complete his transfer? Tell us @SportsWN
