Jeff Jarrett's new wrestling promotion Global Force Wrestling just got a huge boost from WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley as the Hardcore Legend joined GFW for an exclusive interview as part of 'The Journey' Webisode 4. Foley recently decided not to renew his WWE Legends contract, which essentially makes him a high-profile free agent.
In the interview for GFW's YouTube show, Mick Foley threw some shade on WWE by saying, "If you would have asked me a month ago I would have said what drives me ... is to put a smile on people's faces and go home with some money for the Foley family. But I find that watching the drive and being able to discover talent has made me see independent wrestling in a whole new light."
Foley then goes on to talk about being "embarrassed" for not knowing more about independent stars like Kevin Steen and also says he owes it to himself and to the fans to see what other great talent is out there to discover.
TNA Production Crew Nearly Walks Out on Impact Wrestling Tapings?
Later on in the video, Foley then challenges any WWE or national star to "try and get over" without "the Pavlovian Pop" of the music or any other bells and whistles that an established marketing machine can provide. Foley's point is that there are guys like Colt Cabana who have gotten themselves over no matter where he's gone, and yet he doesn't get a legitimate chance to shine on the national stage.
CB's Analysis: I like seeing this new side of Mick Foley as he leaves WWE behind once more for ventures like this one with Global Force Wrestling. Even if Foley doesn't stick with GFW in any sort of long-term role, it's good to see him out there learning more about the independent promotions that are clearly no longer on WWE's radar.
Meanwhile, in a new interview with the Baltimore Sun, former TNA wrestler Christopher Daniels had the following to say about possibly joining GFW in the future:
"I figure that anything that Jeff puts his mind to when it comes to creating a promotion has the potential to be very formidable in terms of the landscape of pro wrestling. Just look what he did with TNA. If he has the right people behind him when it comes to finances, then Jeff is creative enough to make something happen. So it's definitely on my radar, just like I think it's on everyone's radar at this point. Everyone's just waiting to see exactly what Global Force Wrestling is going to be. We have to see where it is, what it is, and who is going to be involved. Jeff is starting to answer slowly but surely."

CB's Analysis: Daniels in GFW would be a great pickup for Jeff Jarrett, as would his Bad Influence partner Frankie Kazarian.
