Pittsburgh looks to close out the series and advance to their second consecutive Eastern Conference Finals while New York tries to stave off elimination and force a Game 7 back in Pennsylvania. The Rangers won Games 1 and 5 while the Penguins rattled off three consecutive wins in Games 2-4 but failed to close the series out on home ice in Game 5.

The Penguins realize that winning at Madison Square Garden against a team with its back against the wall won't be easy despite the fact that the team won both games in New York in this series.

"We know it's not going to be easy," coach Dan Bylsma said per NHL.com. "We know it's not going to be something they hand to you where you punch your ticket and you move on to the next opportunity. You have to earn it."

The Rangers power play finally got a spark when Chris Kreider (hand) returned from a month-long injjry absence and scored the teams first power play goal since Easter Sunday on April 20 and scored Friday night in New York's 5-1 win.

"It's not easy to step into playoff hockey having missed 19 games and not having other than a morning skate a practice with the team. So obviously that's a big challenge for him," coach Alain Vigneault said of Kreider. according to NHL.com. "The fact that for close to seven weeks he couldn't stickhandle, couldn't do anything, obviously was a challenge for him. But that's as good as I've seen anybody respond that hasn't had a full team practice, stepping in and playing."

New York's offense has been sparked by Brad Richards and Mats Zuccarello, who have each notched three goals and added five assists apiece for eight points while Benoit Pouliot 3-4--7 has also been a factor this postseason.

Evgeni Malkin (6-7--13), Jussi Jokinen (6-3--9) and Sidney Crosby (1-8--9) are the leading scorers for the Penguins in these playoffs.

In net, Pittsburgh turns to Marc-Andre Fleury, who is 7-4 with a 2.37 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage this postseason while New York counters with Henrik Lundqvist, who is 6-6 in the playoffs with a 2.16 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

The Penguins and Rangers hit the ice at Madison Square Garden in New York City tonight for Game 6 of their series as part of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
