The NFL Draft is little more than week away, but we have known this years players for almost four months. Do we really know these players? Lets find out with scoring reports on the drafts’ top prospects
Player: Johnny Manziel
Summary: Manziel is a rare talent and he could be the next big thing in football. On the other hand he is an undersized scrambler that makes way too many instinctive decisions that can cost a professional team a game. Manziel made a career of such plays in college and it paid high dividends for him, but will his game translate to the pros? The wait is almost over.
Sports World News NFL Mock Draft 7.0
Pros:
- Pure playmaker
- Mobility is top notch
- Great throw on the run
- Elite deep ball
- Overall special talent
Cons:
- Pocket passing
- Size
- Durability
- Too eager to run
- Celebrity
Pro Comparison: Doug Flutie/ Michael Vick Hybrid
Flutie had the accurate deep ball and the size that compares to Manziel, but the recklessness and desire to run has Vick written all over it. Manziel’s goal should be to try and find the best of both worlds and learn to throw in the pocket along the way. Flute made a living on his arm in spite of his size and Vick was once the most exciting player in the league. Manziel has the ability to take the best of them and make them work to his advantage.
Perfect Fits: Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Manziel is not your prototypical talent at quarterback and will need to right teacher to develop some of his lesser skills. The Browns and Raiders are going through a rebuilding season so Manziel would be able to learn by experience with little to no expectations. The Bucs are a wildcard due to their pass game focusing on Vincent Jackson and his ability to go up and get the deep ball.
Other Player Profiles:
Sammy Watkins
Jadeveon Clowney
Blake Bortles
