When it rains it pours. As if things couldn't get worse for the Indiana Pacers, who at one point in a pivotal Game 5 home matchup with the No. 8 Atlanta Hawks found themselves down by 30 points, star forward Paul George's home was burglarized as his squad took the loss.

Was Paul George "catfished"?

According to reports, $15,000 worth of jewelry, including a platinum All-Star game ring were snatched from his home sometime between the hours of 7:45 p.m. and 11:145 p.m. ET. It was George's parents who discovered the theft. His parents had left the home unlocked, claiming they didn't have keys to get back inside, and the alarm system hadn't been set. Police found no signs of forced entry.

While his home was combed through for valuables, George put forth another valiant effort that wasn't matched by his teammates. He scored 26 points and added 12 rebounds in the Game 5 defeat, and is averaging 22 points and 11 rebounds per game for the series.

He aired his greivances about the Pacers' defense in Game 5-he has been a standout wing defender all season, while Indiana's prided themselves on their ability to stop opponents all year. Despite that, Atlanta rode a 41-point second quarter to make much of the night a rout.

"It was frustrating because we didn't make a change," George said of the Pacers' defense. "We let them run the same action, the same shot. We didn't do nothing. So that was frustrating." Part of that could be coach Frank Vogel's inability to keep Roy Hibbert on the court, thanks to a combination of non-existent offense, foul trouble, and a lack of speed to keep up with perimeter-oriented bigs like Paul Millsap and Pero Antic.
