AC Milan Transfer News: Mario Balotelli Being Replaced By Sevilla Striker Carlos Bacca?

AC Milan suffered a 2-0 loss to AS Roma at the weekend, dropping the Red and Blacks one point behind Torino for the final UEFA Europa League qualifying spot in Serie A. Millions of euros are at stake for a club desperately vying for relevancy in Italian football—millions of euros that could be spent acquiring new talent.

At least one talent Milan are rumored to be after is Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca.

The 27-year-old has experienced a breakout year for the Spanish side this season, scoring 14 league goals for the club. His four goals and one assist in the UEFA Europa League has helped Sevilla reach the semifinals. They currently hold a 2-0 aggregate lead over their Spanish counterpart, Valencia.

Bacca—a World Cup hopeful for the Colombian national team—has been linked with a move to Milan by the Spanish press, with Fichajes.net (via Football Italia) reporting he would serve as a replacement for controversial striker Mario Balotelli.

Bacca, however, has dismissed all rumors and remains adamant that Sevilla is both his present and future (h/t to Sky Sports). "Everyone dreams of going to great teams, but I'm already in one," Bacca told Radio Marca.

"I'm focused on doing my best to finish off what has been a great season," he added.

"I hope to be among the 23-man squad for the World Cup and then return back to Sevilla. I have a five-year contract to honor and I've just got here."
