Each game has finished with a 4-3 final with the Blue Jackets winning Games 2 and 4 in overtime while the Penguins took Games 1 and 3 in regulation.
The Blue Jackets are confident that the team can take its first series lead in franchise history, and the club is looking to do so tonight on the road.
"All this year it was everybody saying it," coach Todd Richards said per NHL.com. "Our goal wasn't just to come in and make a splash."
The Penguins meanwhile have gone through a roller coaster of emotions in this series as it has blown leads in both of its losses but has mounted comebacks in its wins.
"I think the emotional ebb-and-flow of the playoffs is like no other," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma told NHL.com. "You win a game and you feel extremely good, and we lose a game and you feel the sting of the loss. It's best-of-3 right now and Game 5, starting our home-ice advantage is Saturday, and that is where our team is at. That is where our focus is at."
In Game 4, Pens goalie Marc-Andre Fleury let up two questionable goals --one late in the third and the other in overtime -- to cough up the Penguins chances of going up 3-1 in the series. He'll try to play better in Game 5.
Fleury has allowed 14 goals on 145 shots through the first four games while Blue Jackets netminder Sergei Bobrovsky has also allowed 14 goals on 140 shots.
Brandon Dubinsky has led Columbus with six points off of a goal and five assists while Jack Johnson has five points off of three tallies and two helpers in the series and Ryan Johansen has lit the lamp twice and added three assists to also notch five points.
Pittsburgh has been paced by Paul Martin who has eight points in the series all off of assists while Matt Niskanen has two markers and three helpers for five points. Beau Bennett has four points off of four assists while Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have yet to find the back of the net but each have four assists.
