Tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET, the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild take the ice at the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota for Game 3 of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series. The game can be live streamed for free here. Colorado fans can hear all of the action on KRWZ 950 while Minnesota fans can do the same on WCCO 830.
Colorado goes on the road for the first time this series after doing what it had to do in the first two games and taking care of home-ice to go up 2-0 while Minnesota will hope that coming home in front of their fans will spark them to their first win in the series.
The Avalanche notched a 5-4 overtime win in Game 1 over the Wild and secured a 4-2 victory in Saturday's Game 2.
Paul Stastny, Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog have sparked the young and speedy Avalanche during the first two games of this series.
"It's fun to watch them. It's pretty impressive," Avalanche first-year coach Patrick Roy said per NHL.com. "When you make it to the playoffs, your best players need to be your best players in order for you to have a chance to win. These three guys have done a super job."
Stastny (three goals, four assists) and MacKinnon (one tally, six helpers) each have seven points through the first two games while Landeskog has lit the lamp three times for three postseason points.
The Wild feel confident that they can shut down the explosive trio of Stastny, MacKinnon and Landeskog at home.
"We've played against other great players this year and we've done the job against them," coach Mike Yeo said via NHL.com. "For me, it's just a matter of resetting and getting back to our game. Obviously, getting home, will give us that opportunity."
Charlie Coyle has been a spark for the Wild, notching a goal in each of the first two games for two points in the playoffs. Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise haven't been able to find the back of the net yet this series, but they have played key roles with each notching three assists for three points.
Semyon Varlamov will man the crease for Colorado after earning two wins in the first two games and allowing six goals on 65 shots. Minnesota is changing gears in net after Ilya Bryzgalov has lost the first two games. Darcy Kuemper will play between the pipes. Kuemper went 12-8-4 with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
The Avalanche and Wild go head-to-head in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup live from the Xcel Energy Center tonight in Minnesota.
