The biggest stars shined brightest when showcased at Madison Square Garden and Warriors guard Stephen Curry is no exception. But, despite a stellar performance from their superstar, Golden State fell short of capturing a cross-country road win in New York.
The Knicks outlasted the Warriors with a 109-105 win on Wednesday night despite allowing a career best 54-points from Curry, which is the highest single game scoring effort of any NBA player for the 2012-13 season. Curry also chipped in six rebounds, three steals, and seven performances in his team's loss.
Carmelo Anthony led all Knicks with 35-points in the team's 34th win of the season. Tyson Chandler also played a major role on Tuesday, grabbing a game high 28-rebounds and adding 16-points of his own.
But all eyes were on Golden State's sharpshooter Curry who shot 18 of 28 from the floor and finished just three 3-pointers shy of the NBA record with 11 made of 13 attempted.
The Warriors will need a better effort from the rest of their team as they look to end their two-game losing streak against Boston on Friday. The Knicks will look to continue their two-game streak as they travel to Washington.
