Tonight at 8:05 p.m. ET the Boston Red Sox (5-8), who seem to be staggering through the aftereffects of an early World Series hangover, will try to right the ship against the Chicago White Sox (7-6) at U.S. Cellular Field. Live stream the game by clicking this link; Red Sox fans can tune in to the radio broadcast on 93.7 WEEI, while White Sox fans can do the same on WSCR 670. The Red Sox will have Jake Peavy (0-0, 2.13 ERA) on the mound against Erik Johnson (0-1, 9.58 ERA).

Tonight's matchup will be Peavy's first in Chicago as a visiting hurler. "It will be strange. We enjoyed having him here and he was a good pitcher," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said of his former player. "I'm sure the guys will have fun. They will try to do something to distract him, I'm sure."

The Red Sox are hoping Peavy isn't too sentimental to pitch well, since the offense has been in shambles to start the season. Making matters worse, key lineup cog Dustin Pedroia is out with a wrist injury that has bothered him since Opening Day. "I think there's probably a direct correlation to what we've seen at the plate," manager John Farrell said of Pedroia's ailment.

He's batting .236 with no home runs and just one RBI-over his last 10 games he's batting a paltry .156 with six strikeouts and no walks.

The White Sox, on the other hand, have a long-underperforming infielder pulling a reverse Pedroia. Shortstop Alexei Ramirez is on a torrid 13-game hitting streak, in which he's batted .420 with three home runs (one a walk-off), 12 RBIs and three stolen bases.

"Everything is about the preparation, I believe," said Ramirez. "You know, this year I've been working on that and being prepared. I have my routine and, obviously, things have been good."
