Kevin Durant is likely the front runner for the 2013-2014 MVP award, but a huge performance tonight that can snap San Antonio's 20-game winning streak may be the final feather in KD's cap. Still, he may play less with little chance of catching the Spurs-Durant's averaged 38 minutes a night this year and could be rested more as the regular season winds down.

"It's important to get the work in, but it's also important to rest," coach Scott Brooks said. "Most coaches like me want to keep practicing and doing drills and scrimmaging and special situations. You also have to rest the body and the mind and our players understand that we have to utilize all of our days."

Durant has much to play for however. Not only is he trying to stave off LeBron for the MVP, he's also trying to extend his streak of 38 consecutive games with 25 or more points. Durant won't force the issue though if the opportunities aren't there.

"I'm just going out there, playing my game," Durant said. "If it happens, cool. If it doesn't, cool. That's how I approach it -- just playing within the offense. If a shot's there, shoot it. If a pass is there, pass it. I try to play as simple as I can. If that (25 points or more) comes with it, then so be it, but if not, I'm not going to lose any sleep."
