Jadeveon Clowney to be top pick in the NFL Draft? Clowney threatens to make Houston Texans pay if they pass on him [VIDEO]

After Jadeveon Clowney's workout at South Carolina's Pro Day on Wednesday, he issued a warning to the Houston Texans, who own the No. 1 selection in next month's NFL draft.

Take him, or else.

"I have to make them miserable," Clowney told reporters with a smile, when asked how he would treat the Texans if they didn't take him with the overall No. 1 pick, according to Fox Sports.

According to multiple media reports, the Gamecocks defensive end solidified his status as the NFL's top talent entering the May draft.

"I don't know if the day could've gone much better for Clowney," said NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah, a former scout for the Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles, as reported by the Akron Beacon Jounal. ... "Overall, I thought it was a phenomenal day."

Clowney's scare tactics worked, somewhat. First-year Texans coach Bill O'Brien, who already revealed how the franchise would use him.

If Houston were to draft him.

"If we decide to draft this guy, we're not just going to play him at one position," O'Brien said to houstontexans.com. "We may start him off at one position but use him in a lot of different ways. He's a unique talent but again, that's if we draft him."

Now that's a poker face if we ever saw one.

Former NFL head coach and current NFL analyst Tony Dungy for NBC advised O'Brien to remove the "if" from his statement in an interview with USA TODAY Sports:

"There is no one physically like Clowney in this draft," Dungy said. "If Houston wanted to make this a dynamic defense and really put pressure on people, I'd take Clowney first."

And that was before Clowney's workout Wednesday.

According to Fox Sports, Clowney even conducted his workout with a slight groin pull.

The only controversy surrounding Clowney's workout was the dispute over whether the Cleveland Browns, who own the second pick, were in attendance. The Akron Beacon Journal reported that the Browns refuted an earlier report by the NFL Network's Mike Mayock saying that the Browns were absent.

No word on whether the Browns said they will make the Texans pay if they don't take Clowney No. 1.
