NFL Draft Kansas City preview; Is there a prospect at No. 23 can put the Chiefs in the Super Bowl? [GIFS]

Here at Sports World News we will count down each NFL teams’ 2014 draft needs and perfect fits. At the end of every team we will make a pick on who the team could take at their position. The Kansas City Chiefs came out of nowhere to make the playoffs last year. What do the Chiefs need to do to keep up their winning ways?

2013 Review: The Chiefs shocked the world by going from 2-14 to 10-6 in one season. Coach Andy Reid and new quarterback Alex Smith were the major changes to the team and it looked like a totally different squad. Jamaal Charles had himself a career year, but down the stretch the lucky stretch the Chiefs had ran out. The Colts exposed some of the Chiefs glaring holes and knocked them back to the drawing board.

Needs:
Wide Receiver:
Dwayne Bowe isn't a great receiver and Donny Avery is ancient. The Chiefs need to find a new number one receiver. The Chiefs are interested in DeSean Jackson at the right price, but his price might be too steep. This is the deepest draft in recent memory and wide receiver is a stronger position.

Tight End: The Chiefs could use that big pass catching tight end they have lacked since Tony Gonzalez left town. Tony Moeaki was suppose to be that guy years ago, but injuries just derailed his career. In a draft that has Eric Ebron and other rare talented tight ends the Chiefs can afford this luxury.

Safety: Andrew Luck toasted the Chiefs in the playoffs and most of the damage came over the top. Kansas City has to find better pieces in the secondary if they want to contend in this pass happy league. A first round pick could be in the cards, but I would expect it to be a later round guy.

Targets: Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
 David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
 Marqise Lee, WR, USC
 Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

Best First Round Fit: Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
Where it isn't a glaring need the Chiefs do need interior line help. Su’a-Filo is a great talent and is getting hotter and hotter by the day. No. 23 might be little high for Su’a-Filo, but the Chiefs might have to settle for the smart move. Su’a-Filo will solidify the Chiefs interior line for years to come.
