Here at Sports World News we will countdown each NFL teams’ 2014 draft needs and perfect fits. At the end of every team we will make a pick on who the team could take at their position. The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton rose to the occasion and the collapse of the Falcons to seal the NFC South.

Eagles Trying to Trade DeSean Jackson?

2013 Review: Cam Newton and company surprised everyone by winning the NFC South and clinching a first round bye. The 49ers ended any hopes the Panthers had of a Super Bowl, but before giving the front office faith in coach Ron Rivera and his regime. The front office has dropped the ball this offseason however and Riverboat Ron should not be happy.

Needs:
Wide Receivers:
Every Panther receiver from 2013 is gone. Out is Steve Smith, Ted Ginn and Brandon LaFell and in is Earl Bennett and Kenny Britt? Thats the options the Panthers have left in free agency for the most part, but the draft holds some great prospects. Missing out on Hakeem Nicks, James Jones and Eric Decker pretty much forces the Panthers to get two receivers in the draft.

Left Tackle: Jordan Gross leaves huge shoes to fill and he picked a rotten time for Carolina. With the gapping hole at receiver the Panthers really could have used Gross to solidify the left tackle spot for one more season. If a receiver that the Panthers target is gone at 28 then the next choice will certainly be a tackle.

Cornerbacks: Surprise, Carolina lost Captain Munnerlyn in free agency as well and have yet to sign a replacement. There aren't enough picks in the draft at the right value to fill all the holes the Panthers have. The Panthers will have to find a cheap veteran option at corner or find a prospect late and hope he can carry the load in 2014

Targets: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
 Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
 Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
 Marqise Lee, WR, USC

Best First Round Fit: Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU
Beckham is the first of two receiver picks the Panthers are likely to take come May. They are in such bad shape at receiver that they ranked at the top of my worst position groups. For context they ranked worse then the Browns QB situation, that bad. Beckham is an incredible athlete that would be the best receiver Newton has had in his entire stay in Carolina.
