Jadeveon Clowney work ethic: NFL scout says he wouldn't risk his job for Clowney [VIDEO]

It's one scout's opinion, but it shows the unpredictability of Jadeveon Clowney's draft status.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel did a report in assessing the top draft choices that might be available to the Green Bay Packers when their No. 21 pick comes up in the 2014 NFL Draft. Within the report, the Journal solicited the opinions of anonymous scouts in regards to the draft hopeful.

When Clowney, the mercurial defensive end from South Carolina, was mentioned, one scout took a glass-is-half-empty approach.

"I would not put my job on the line for that guy," the scout told the Journal-Sentinel. "Who has a profile like that that's been successful in the NFL? Lazy. Not playing hard ... I think his physical talent is being overblown. At what point in his life has he had to push himself? Now you're going to give him this money and say, 'Do something you're never done in your life before. Against guys you just can't run over. I would not do it."

That assessment is contrary to what the Houston Texans, who own the top pick, are thinking, according to Bleacher Report.

A Houston Texans official who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity, told Bleacher Report, ""We've never really seen anything like Clowney. There's the chance he could redefine the position the way Reggie White or Bruce Smith did."

Bleacher Report warned that any evaluations during this time of the year are subject to great hyperbole, but the Texans official put it out there, anyway.

Clowney interviewed well in regards to concerns about his work ethic and attitude. Bleacher Report added that the Texans officials believe that J.J. Watt's presence would lessen the concern that Clowney's effort level is inconsistent.

The report added that Clowney's 4.53-second time in the 40-yard dash is faster than every NFL quarterback's time - with the exception of Robert Griffin III. But Griffin was tested before his knee injury.
