Women's Championship Competitors At 'Backlash' Ranked: 6) Alexa Bliss
Nothing against the former NXT Superstar, but Bliss just arrived on the main roster and doesn't seem to be the most logical choice to leave Virginia with the new gold. She also hasn't been booked very strongly on "SmackDown Live" to this point, so it wouldn't make much sense for her to win.

Women's Championship Competitors At 'Backlash' Ranked: 5) Carmella
The WWE gave Carmella a nice attitude with her vicious beat down of Bella this week, but the company should keep her momentum going gradually before crowning her as champion. In time, she'll likely make a good villain atop the roster, but there's no use in rushing that push.
Women's Championship Competitors At 'Backlash' Ranked: 4) Natalya
The "Queen of Hearts" has a nice edge after turning heel and she wouldn't necessarily make a bad choice to win the match, she just might not be the best choice. If Natalya does win, however, there won't be any complaints here. She's one of the better in-ring workers and her personality is clicking as a villain.
Women's Championship Competitors At 'Backlash' Ranked: 3) Naomi
Armed with a new look, it seems the WWE is set to make Naomi a force on "SmackDown Live." Naomi is a very under-utilized women's competitor and could benefit from the brand split giving her more room to shine. It's unlikely the WWE books her to win, but she at least is on the better half out of this group of six.
5 WWE 'No Mercy' Matches: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Carmella vs. Nikki Bella (Women's Championship)
The "Lass Kicker" finally won the big one as she outlasted five other women to become the first-ever "SmackDown Live" Women's Champion. Carmella was the runner-up in the match, so it would only make sense for her to become a contender for the title. Since she's feuding with Nikki Bella, their rivalry can become a separate storyline within the match as all three ladies vie for the new prize.
Women's Championship Competitors At 'Backlash' Ranked: 1) Nikki Bella
The "Fearless" Superstar is perhaps the most intriguing option to escape Backlash with the title. For one, she suffered a career-threatening injury and worked hard to get back in time for SummerSlam, something which the WWE could reward her for. Bella also is over with most members of the WWE Universe and took great strides to improve in the ring leading to her historic run with the now-defunct Divas Championship. Since she had that long run, it would only be fitting for her to win "SmackDown Live's" big prize and try to surpass her past success. Bella clearly has what it takes to be the face of the women's division.
