It has been widely speculated that Ryan Miller's career-long tenure in Buffalo, which has spanned more than a decade, will come to an end this year and even the franchise goalie believes that the Sabres will deal him prior to the 3 p.m. NHL trade deadline on Wednesday.

Sabres shopping goaltender Ryan Miller

Miller, who is due to become an unrestricted free agent come season's end, has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the 2013-14 campaign.

"I'm answering these questions because it seems likely, given my status at the end of the year, they're likely to trade me," Miller said via NHL.com. "And that's where we're at."

Rangers and Lightning mulling captain-for-captain swap?

It's likely that the Sabres will move Miller rather than risk not being able to re-sign him this summer and getting nothing in return. The Sabres are looking to rebuild and are in the hunt for younger talent that will guide them to better seasons in the future.

"If we had more time to see what moves they made before the trade deadline, what's a logical business move, I could take all summer and we could see where everything shakes out, but it seems like it's a risky proposal for both sides," Miller explained to NHL.com. "So right now, it's a business decision, it's not really a personal thing, see where it goes."

The Sabres are in dead last in the NHL standings with a 17-34-8 record and could be looking to move their franchise goaltender at the deadline to try and rebuild their struggling team.

Islanders Thomas Vanek on the move again?

Miller has played every game of his career with the Sabres after being drafted in the fifth round (138th overall) in the 1999 NHL Draft. He made his Sabres debut in 2002 and has never suited up for another team.

Miller has set franchise records for the Sabres with 540 games played and 284 wins throughout his time with the team.

Miller, 33, is 15-22-3 this season for the Sabres and has accounted for all but two of their wins this season while being the team's MVP. Miller has a 2.72 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage thus far this season.

The Sabres host the San Jose Sharks on Friday in what could amount to be Miller's final home game as a member of the team.

"We'll see how everything plays out, I'm not going to close off any avenues," Miller said per NHL.com. "... With a little bit of uncertainty, you don't want to miss an opportunity to say thank you."
