Carmelo Anthony admits Knicks woeful season will impact free agent decision [VIDEO]

Carmelo Anthony admits the New York Knicks woeful on-and-off court season will significantly impact his summer free-agent decision.

"It is looking more and more like Carmelo is leaning toward leaving the NYC," New York Daily News Knicks beat reporter Frank Isola tweeted on Thursday, just one day after starting point guard Raymond Felton was released from jail on gun charges after allegedly waving a gun at his estranged wife.

As the Knicks season veers closer and closer toward disaster, Anthony continues to turn in one of his best overall seasons. The league's reigning scoring champ has netted 165 points over his last four games, an average of better than 41 points per night. Still, it hasn't been enough to transform the Knicks into winners, as the team has gone 1-3 over that stretch, including losses to both the lowly Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic.

"It's pointless," Anthony lamented to The News after his 44-point, nine-rebound effort couldn't save the Knicks from a 110-108 loss to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week "You score 40, 44, all losses. You kind of ask yourself, is it worth it?"

"Carmelo Anthony has scored a career-high 922 pts in losses this season, 197 more than any other player," ESPN's Numbers Never Lie recently reported.

Overall, the Knicks have now dropped nine of their last 11 games and haven't had consecutive wins in nearly a month. To finish at just .500, the team would need to win 20 of their final 25 games.
