DeMar DeRozan Deserving All-Star? Dwyane Wade Joins Campaign For Toronto Raptors Star [VIDEO]

The DeMar DeRozan All-Star campaign has started in earnest, with Miami Heat star guard Dwyane Wade tweeting there's "no doubt in my mind DeRozan deserves to be an all star."

All-Star game reserves are slated to be announced this Thursday and BleacherReport.com reports support for the 24-year-old Toronto Raptors rising star is growing strong.

DeRozan is averaging career-highs of 21.8 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals for the surprising Raptors this season, while Wade, a voted starter, has numbers of 18.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists a game. Wade, a ten time All-Star, has also missed 13 games this season.

DeRozan, meanwhile has played in all 43 Raptors games, but may be forced to sit out Monday's game against Brooklyn with a sprained left foot. Most recently, DeRozan torched the Dallas Navs for a career-high 40-point outburst, paving the way for him to be one of just 17 players averaging over 20 points thus far this season.

Perhaps even more impressively, the Raptors are a respectable 22-21, and stand as the Eastern Conference's No. 4 seed. In addition to Wade, LeBron James, Paul George, Kyrie Irving and Carmelo Anthony have all been voted Eastern Conference all-star game starters.
