Tim Tebow formally launched his ESPN career with an appearance on a Monday morning episode of SportsCenter.
According to USA TODAY, "an unshaven, well-dressed" Tebow made his network debut during a 10 a.m. segment live from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, just hours before Florida State and Auburn are to meet in the BCS national championship.
Appearing alongside fellow Florida alum Jesse Palmer, the newspaper added Tebow "delivered his first response with clarity, poise and few signs of nerves. All in all, it was a fine debut for the 26-year-old former quarterback."
During part of his banter with Palmer, Tebow touched upon the two national championship games he played in while with the Gators, including his 2007 Heisman Trophy winning season.
In a press release distributed last month, ESPN officials said Tebow will be a key contributor to the new SEC Network the company plans to formally launch later this year.
While expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Tebow, nonetheless, was clear about his hopes of one day re-joining the ranks of the NFL. The man who last played in an NFL game with the Jets in 2012 recently told reporters he now feels he the best "he's ever been as a quarterback."
