Dez Bryant Back Injury Returns? Cowboys Expect Bryant On Field, Not Sidelines With Tony Romo, Sean Lee

The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with some significant injuries heading into their regular-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles with the NFC East division title on the line this Sunday as quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant are dealing with back injuries. It has been reported that Romo is likely to miss the game while Bryant is being monitored by the team.

According to NFL.com, Bryant was limited at the team's Christmas Day practice Wednesday with a back injury and the team doctors will continue to monitor him within the next few days.

According to the report, the team officials don't believe that the setback will be anything serious, but it is notable since Bryant has had a history with back issues. The team expects that Bryant will be able to play, while Romo reportedly will need surgery on a herniated disk in his back.

The team has yet to rule out Romo, but they worked out five quarterbacks this week and it is expected that Kyle Orton may take his spot under center for the game against the Eagles.

Bryant was forced to be in a wheel chair after last year's winner-take-all NFC East clash with the Washington Redskins in the final week of the season due to being in significant pain following the game.

Bryant has landed on the injury report with back ailments this season, but it is expected that the receiver will be able to play when the Cowboys look to clinch their first trip to the playoffs and first NFC East crown since 2009.

Through 15 games this season, Bryant has 85 receptions for 1,134 yards and 12 scores.

While it is likely that Romo will miss the game, it is unlikely that Bryant will be sidelined, though more information will be available after the Cowboys practice on Thursday.
