The Seattle Seahawks are further strengthening their roster in their quest to reclaim prominence and secure a playoff berth.

Adding to their efforts, the team has signed a former Pro Bowl offensive guard to bolster their offensive line.

According to league insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Seahawks are set to sign a one-year deal with Laken Tomlinson. However, the specific terms of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.

The 32-year-old has played for the New York Jets for the last two seasons. During the 2023 NFL season, he appeared in all 17 regular-season games and recorded two solo tackles and two fumble recoveries.

The Jets released the former Duke Blue Devils player in late February 2024, a move intended to save roughly $8.1 million before the start of free agency.

Laken Tomlinson was a Pro Bowl selection in 2021

Tomlinson earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 during his final season with the San Francisco 49ers, where he was a consistent contributor along the interior line.

He was subsequently named among the NFL's best guards ahead of the 2022 season.

The Jamaican-born player was selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, with the Detroit Lions drafting him 28th overall. He spent his first two seasons with the team before moving to the Bay Area squad in 2017 and with the Jets in 2022.
