UConn forward Aaliyah Edwards is one of the best in NCAA Women's Basketball.

The Canadian Prodigy has shined on a really good UConn team. Aaliyah Edwards benefits in playing next to point guard Paige Bueckers; both helping lead the club to a 30-5 overall record and a 18-0 record against the Big East.

Edwards has declared for the WNBA Draft, leaving fans to wonder what team would be taking the talented forward come April 15th.

WNBA Draft Preview: Aaliyah Edwards

Senior
From: UConn
Height: 6 foot 3
Position: Forward
Draft Projection: Projected to go No.3 to the Chicago Sky

Aaliyah Edwards is projected to be drafted anywhere from pick three to five, but we have her valued at being selected No.3 overall to the Chicago Sky.

Edwards has all the tools to thrive at the next level in the WNBA, and she could be a good fit for a Chicago Sky team looking in her direction.

She is very well rounded, has excellent touch around the rim, and has great on-court instinct along with the ability to work well in the low post.

Aaliyah Edwards has the speed and strength to guard the lane. She can thrive in the open court, especially for a Sky team that likes to get out in transition and score on fast breaks.

The UConn star forward has shown the ability to be efficient in the second star role in playing alongside Paige Bueckers, one of the best in NCAA Women's college basketball.

Edwards does need to improve her shooting to play for her transition to the WNBA, even though at times she has shown she could be a good enough shooter; going 77% from the free-throw line. However, she must expand her range to excel at the next level.

The Chicago Sky (18-22) are coming off of a somewhat disappointing season. Despite clinching the final WNBA playoff spot, they got bounced early to the inevitable WNBA Champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

The Sky saw significant changes in the offseason, including trading franchise All-Star Kahleah Copper to the Phoenix Mercury.

This Chicago team, which is currently going through a rebuilding period after last winning it all back in 2021 behind Candace Parker, could be adding a massive building block in Aaliyah Edwards to regain success in the future.
