WNBA Draft Preview: Cameron Brink

Senior
From: Stanford
Height: 6-4
Position: Center
Draft Projection: No.2 to the Los Angeles Sparks

Cameron Brink will likely be taken by the Los Angeles Sparks with the No.2 pick after the Fever will probably take Caitlin Clark first overall.  Based on her play this year, she has done enough to prove herself the second-best player in the WNBA Draft after posting her best season at Stanford.

Brink won the 2023-24 Pac-12 Player of the Year Award, while averaging 17.8 points and 12.0 rebounds per game this season. She has earned the Defensive Player of the Year Award as well and won a National Title in 2021.

Cameron Brink is a big-time interior presence who can block shots with ease, averaging 3.6 blocks per game for the Stanford Cardinals.

She has proven to be an elite rebounder as she is ranked seventh amongst the nation in that category.

Brink also has a great touch around the rim, showing she can be a low-post presence and has shown to be a really good scorer at times; dropping 23 points in the Pac 12 Tournament game against Oregon.

If taken by the Sparks, she would join a Los Angeles team that finished 17-23 last season under Curt Miller in his first year coaching the team.

The Los Angeles Sparks will be without All-Star Nneka Ogwuimike, who left via Free Agency. Cameron Brink can definitely come in and fill her role quickly as the team's inside presence.

Cameron Brink truly needs to get stronger in order to flourish at the next level, but she has shown so far that she could thrive in the WNBA.
