FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta has expressed a harsh opinion and predicted rivals Real Madrid's imminent signing of French star Kylian Mbappe.

The Los Blancos are reportedly on the verge of securing the signing of Paris Saint Germain forward this summer after several years of pursuing him to no avail.

However, Laporta is not fazed by their rivals' significant acquisition and believes Mbappe could present challenges for the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners.

"Not at all, not at all. Besides, I don't know yet if he will come or not, let's see," the 61-year-old executive said in Spanish when asked if Barcelona is envious of Real Madrid signing Mbappe.

According to reports, Mbappe is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Bernabeu worth €225 million ($245 million).

Joan Laporta has bold prediction for Real Madrid's integration of Mbappe

Laporta then emphasized the potential challenge Real Madrid may encounter in integrating Mbappe alongside existing players like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, suggesting that they might need to offload personnel.

He also expressed concern that Mbappe's hefty salary might lead to tension within the team.

"They have a problem there. You have to sell a player, right? Because they are not going to play two starters in the same place. And speaking of the numbers, this distorts the locker room for sure. That's not a gift," Laporta added.
