Browns Start to Reload Their Quarterback Room

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with former Saints and Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston on a deal worth up to $8.7 million.

Jameis Winston has had an up and down career since he was drafted number one overall back in 2015 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since his time after leaving Tampa Bay, Winston has served as a backup quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

After last season, the Browns have become the marker for how important the backup quarterback role is, as they went through starting five different quarterbacks throughout the 2023 season and still making the playoffs.

This upcoming season, Cleveland is getting a head start on potential quarterback woes by signing Jameis Winston, as Winston was of the better performing backup QBs to start last season.
