Lakers Star LeBron James Breaks Karl Malone Record in Stunning Longevity Feat

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James achieved another milestone during their game on Wednesday, March 6, against state rivals Sacramento Kings at home in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

The 39-year-old played in his 1,477th regular season NBA game, surpassing the legendary power forward Karl Malone to reach sixth place on the all-time list for the most games played in league history.

James is now setting his sights on fifth place, held by Malone's Utah Jazz partner John Stockton, who played 1,504 games.

Unfortunately, the NBA's all-time leading scorer won't be able to surpass Stockton this season, as the Lakers only have 18 remaining games on their schedule.

Hall of Fame center Robert Parish, best known for his time with the Boston Celtics, holds the NBA record for the most NBA regular season games played at 1,611.

This record is within reach for James, who would need two seasons of staying relatively healthy to claim the top spot.

The Lakers drop the game to the Kings

Despite James' historic evening, the Lakers lost the game against the Kings, with a final score of 130-120.

The four-time NBA champion delivered 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting, along with five rebounds, 14 assists, and one steal.

Following the loss, the Lakers now find themselves in the 10th place in the Western Conference standings, switching places with the Golden State Warriors, who won their game against Eastern Conference contenders Milwaukee Bucks on the same night.
