Time could be running out for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Following the Lakers second straight loss, this time falling 138-122 to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, LeBron James vented his frustration to reporters about the team's play.

"We could, on any given night, beat any team in the NBA. And then on any given night, we could get our ass kicked by any team in the NBA," James said

"That's just the ... What's our record? Under .500? 24-25? That's what we are."

Hours after the game, James took to X and posted a "️hourglass." James tweeted this out during the early hours of the morning and had many speculating his message.

Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James Cryptic Message

LeBron had 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists Tuesday, but without co-star Anthony Davis, it wasn't enough to secure the win in Atlanta.

The message could mean that time is running out for the Lakers front office and that they may need to make a move to save their season.

The NBA Trade Deadline is February 8th and the Lakers have already been reportedly active with an interest for several players out in the open market.

Hawks Dejountae Murray has been a player named in emerging trade talks for the Lakers.

Recent reports from NBA Insider Shams Charania of the Athletic revealed that the Lakers could also potentially be targeting the Nets trio of point guards; Spencer Dinwiddie, Royce O' Neale, and Dorian Finney-Smith.

The Lakers Regular Season in Peril

It's no surprise that the Lakers superstar has shown signs of frustration.

It has been a rocky season for the Los Angeles Lakers, who have hovered around .500 and are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference standings.

The Lakers have failed to pick up any momentum despite big wins this season; including winning the NBA inaugural In Season Tournament against the Indiana Pacers back in December.

Their recent epic 145-144 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday should have been a momentum swing for the Lakers. However, they dropped their last two games against the Rockets and Hawks following that win.

The Lakers have a tough slate of games ahead of them with games against the league's best coming up. Games against the Celtics, Nuggets and Knicks are on the horizon. They would need to turn it up now if they hope to make the postseason this year.
