If you can sum up the Knicks season in two words, no doubt it would have to be...

Jalen Brunson!

In just his second season in New York, the star point guard Jalen Brunson has brought life to the Knicks franchise, giving them something they've lacked in a long time, a really good point guard who could score just as good as he can dish out the rock.

This season, Brunson averages 26.6 points per game and 6.5 assists while shooting 48% from the field. He has provided a secondary scoring option for the Knicks and is a much-needed playmaker.

He has been able to step up in big moments for the Knicks and, at times, even looked like the best player in Blue And Orange.

New York Knicks: Jalen Brunson an All-Star Snub?

Despite Brunson's excellent season so far, he wasn't voted as an All-Star, with fans opting to go with the Bucks point guard Damian Lillard.

Many were puzzled by the news that Lillard was starting over the Knicks point guard, who despite playing well for an excellent Bucks team, has not had the season that Brunson has had so far this year.

NBA analyst Charles Barkley said so as much during TNT's NBA Coverage where the NBA All-Star starters were revealed.

"I'm never gonna throw shade at Dame Lillard," Barkley said. "I love him as a person and as a player, but I would have loved to see Jalen Brunson be a starter."

Lillard is currently averaging 25.3 points per game with 6.8 assists while shooting 42.3 % from the field. Brunson is putting up better numbers and has proven to be a more efficient player overall.

Brunson is definitely a worthy All-Star, based on his play and how well the Knicks are playing. With New York having one of their best seasons with Brunson running point standing at a record of 29-17, sitting at the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference.

The team has reeled off six straight wins as we move closer to the NBA All-Star break. During this streak, they have been able to pick up some big wins over the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat, cementing themselves as one of the more elite teams in the league currently.

The mid-season trade to acquire OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley has already paid off for the Knicks this season, as Anunoby has transcended the Knicks defense.

New York Knicks: Randle's Injury, Brunson's Spotlight

Julius Randle will reportedly miss sometime after sustaining a dislocated shoulder in the final four minutes of the Knicks 125-109 win against Miami Heat.

According to The Athletic NBA Insider, Shams Charnia, Randle is expected to miss several weeks.
Randle and Brunson have been a big part of the Knicks' success this season, with Randle averaging 24 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field.

Without Randle, it's likely that the Knicks will look to Brunson, who is expected to pick up the majority of the scoring load in the coming weeks.
