Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns is no stranger to trash-talking. He has had his share, but one instance he did not forget was the one involving Mo Wagner of the Orlando Magic.

Both players were playing for a different team when that incident happened in 2018. Durant was still with the Golden State Warriors, while Wagner was in his rookie year with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wagner was sharing a story between him and Durant then and remembered it very well.

"I walked away from that game thinking, damn that rookie is an a**hole," Durant posted.

Wagner's roasted moment

Being a rookie at the time, Wagner admitted he talked a lot. But in that one instance, he had no idea that it was Durant who talked smack to when he appeared on the "Pardon My Take" podcast.

Admitting he was star-struck back then and had no credibility, the 26-year-old was attempting a three-pointer when he got fouled doing so. It was only when he turned around that he realized that it was KD who fouled him.

"Kevin Durant guards me, and I don't think he's taking me seriously at all. He didn't even know who I was," Wagner said. "I'm on a pick-and-pop three, and he fouls me. I didn't realize it was him, turned around and said, 'You can't guard me.'"

Durant jabbed back at him together with Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins. Ultimately, he only converted one free throw out of three attempts, with Durant, Green, and Cousins getting on his case.

Past is past for KD and Wagner

Durant remains the same superstar player most know him to be, while Wagner has matured a lot since his rookie season.

Along with his brother Franz Wagner, both are prime cogs on why the Orlando Magic are doing well this NBA season, per CBS Sports. He is averaging 13.0 points on 63.3% shooting in 20 games this season.
